Accessibility Statement
Last reviewed: 2026-08-14 · Target standard: WCAG 2.1 level AA / EN 301 549
This statement applies to the Time Management System web application. We want it to be usable by everyone, including people using a screen reader, keyboard-only navigation, or browser zoom/high-contrast settings.
Conformance status
This application is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 AA. "Partially conformant" means some parts of the content do not yet fully meet the standard, listed below.
What we've done
- A "Skip to main content" link is provided on every page for keyboard users.
- All primary navigation reflects the current page to assistive technology (
aria-current="page"). - Icon-only buttons (clock in/out, approve/reject, mark complete, menu toggles) have text alternatives via
aria-label. - Form fields on the core forms (login, time entry, task, profile) use properly associated
<label for>elements. - Color is never the only way information is conveyed — status uses both color and text/icon labels.
- Text and background color combinations have been checked against the WCAG AA 4.5:1 contrast minimum.
- The interface is responsive and usable at mobile widths and at up to 200% browser zoom.
Known limitations
- Chart visualizations (hours-by-day, hours-by-team-member) are rendered as
<canvas>and are not readable by screen readers on their own; a text summary is provided alongside each chart as an interim measure, but a fully accessible data-table alternative is planned. - Some secondary/admin forms added after this review may not yet have fully associated labels — the pattern used on the core forms is being rolled out to the rest of the app.
